Dominion Homes and the Borror family have a long history of charitable giving and supporting the communities in which we build and sell our homes. Through the years, our philosophy on corporate giving has remained the same: “People who are active in their communities through volunteering and contributions are happier and more productive workers.” This philosophy begins at the top and is consistent throughout the entire team of associates who work for Dominion Homes.
The Dominion Homes Dream Team, made up of 12-15 employees, is responsible for selecting large-scale projects to champion as company-wide causes. Since its creation in 2000, the team has organized and led employees to participate in 15 projects in Ohio and Kentucky. Last year, the Dream Team was proud to raise over $40,000 for the March of Dimes.
It was certainly a team effort when Dominion Homes and more than 40 of our vendors donated $60,000 in building materials, as well as numerous hours of labor, to build an 80’ x 40’ outdoor pavilion for Recreation Unlimited, an organization which provides recreational activities for people with disabilities in Central Ohio. And, again, at Linden Elementary School, Dominion Homes and various community partners raised donations and volunteered time and services to erect a $65,000 playground that will serve as a park for the entire Linden area in Columbus, Ohio.
Dominion also established the Dominion Homes/Borror Family Foundation through The Columbus Foundation as a way to continue to provide support to the Central Ohio community and leverage the considerable talents of the Columbus Foundation in helping coordinate its giving efforts.
The Dominion Homes Philanthropy committee, through the Columbus Foundation, donates to organizations whose efforts and goals are far-reaching in numbers, and whose ethics and values mirror our own.
